Doherty has openly shared her experience of living with breast cancer since her initial diagnosis in 2015. In 2023, the actor and director launched Let's Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, a podcast that reflects on her life and career. “I wanted to be clear about what it was like for me to work with Michael Landon on Little House, what it was like to work with Wilford Brimley on Our House, to talk about the days.

The Long Winter

In 1957, Landon released a single, “Gimme a Little Kiss,” during the height of his fame for his role in the film I Was a Teenage Werewolf. Jason Bateman joined the cast of Little House on the Prairie at age 12. He portrayed James Cooper Ingalls, the second adopted son of Caroline and Charles. Dean Butler portrayed the character Almanzo Wilder, who later married Laura. Born Eugene Maurice Orowitz in Queens, New York, he and his family moved to Collingswood, New Jersey when he was four. There Eugene celebrated his bar mitzvah and attended high school, doing very well in track and field, especially javelin throwing. His athletic skills earned him a scholarship to the University of Southern California.
As with all TV series, it eventually had to come to an end, the final episode of Bonanza airing on January 16, 1973. Beyond I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957), roles came in such films as Maracaibo (1958), High School Confidential (1958), God’s Little Acre (1958) and The Legend of Tom Dooley (1959). Feeling that his birth name wasn’t catchy enough for an aspiring actor, Eugene Orowitz chose his professional moniker by picking the name Michael Landon out of the Los Angeles telephone book.

Bateman's career grew in the 1980s with sitcoms like Silver Spoons, It's Your Move, and The Hogan Family. In 2003, he landed the role of Michael Bluth on Arrested Development, earning two Emmy nominations. He has also ventured into drama, starring as Marty Byrde on the crime drama Ozark and directing nine episodes.
The original DVD sets sold in the U.S. and Canada were released in conjunction with NBC Enterprises (later NBC Universal in 2004) by Imavision Distribution, a company based in Quebec. A majority of the episodes in the original North American DVD versions had scenes cut from the episodes—these were derived from the syndicated television versions by Worldvision Enterprises, the series' former distributor. Other episodes (especially in Season Eight) were time compressed and are NTSC-converted video prints from UK PAL masters, while others were derived from 16MM syndication prints, also from Worldvision.
And both Caroline and Charles are propositioned by former married classmates. When she took on the role of Ma, or Caroline Ingalls, Karen Grassle was an undiscovered newcomer. Despite her lack of credits, she auditioned to play Laura Ingalls' no-nonsense mom and won the part. After Little House ended its run, Grassle said adios to Hollywood and moved to New Mexico where she opened Santa Fe’s Resource Theater Company. She did return to California eventually and landed a part in Kevin Costner’s Wyatt Earp.
